Mad Daddy
Give It To Me
Punk-a-billy/Rock 'n' Roll/Blue Punk
"The whole Mad Daddy album is filled with wall to wall hype tracks just like this so stream it, buy it, stream it while you buy it and for the love of God go and catch them live whenever you can".
The Artist
Mad Daddy are a four piece punky, rocky leather-clad outfit of attitude and good times. Imagine if Elvis grew up in 1970's Camden on a diet of rusty nails and off brand vodka... That's Mad Daddy. Dolyn Clucas-Morris is the chief songwriter providing rambunctious vocals and blistering distorted harmonica. Longtime bassist Elvis Palooka provides the perfect counterpart for Matt Twist's erratic drums and Liam Callow's fuzzy, dirty guitar.
The song
Immediate fuzz and whole band stabs let you know you're in for a helluva ride. The crunchy verse dissolves into the roughed up standard rock progression for a chorus before a wailing harmonica takes control.
Rinse and repeat the above for some more deliciously gritty punk blues. And exposed and phat bass hold down the rhythm section as a soaring guitar solo brings us back comfortably to the familiar chorus.
The verdict
"Give It To Me" invokes a damn fine feeling of unstoppable energy as well more momentum that you can handle. The whole Mad Daddy album is filled with wall to wall hype tracks just like this so stream it, buy it, stream it while you buy it and for the love of God go and catch them live whenever you can.
If you like...
If you like some old school punk mixed in with a little blues, soul and honky tonk good times you'll love Mad Daddy.
